I have a 150 gal reef tank with a 40 gal refugium. I have tons of live rock and would estimate total water capacity at around 130.
Current stock: tomini tang, sailfin tang, b/g chromis, flame angel, 2 clowns, black sailfin blenny, six line wrasse, sleeper banded goby, and falco hawkfish.

    Hopeful future changes:
remove -- falco hawkfish and sleeper banded goby
Add -- blue tang, powder brown tang, orange butterfly

That would give me 4 Tangs from different genera. I added the sailfin that is less then half the tomini's size and had no aggression issues. Is my wish list a possibility or do I need a reality check?

What are the tanks dimensions? That means more than total water volume with tangs.

I almost bought a 6" blue tang that was healthy and fat from a guy who had it in a 75 with an emperor angel, fox face, lemon peel angel, and some smaller fish.

Sailfin might get show aggressiveness as it grows in that tank, if it reaches full size it will be a tight fit, the reason I didn't get one. The hippo and the powder brown my get into it a little bit, but you could get luck too. How much open space do you have?

The sailfin is little, probably 1.5" to the tip of his tail. I have a lot of live rock, currently it is aqua-scaped so that there are 2 roughly equal mounds and a valley between them. They start about 6" from the glass and rise up. I am thinking of redoing it a bit and make the mounds uneven so 1 side would be a lot more open.
Ideally I will be getting the blue and powder brown at the same time and around the 2" size.

4 in a 48" tank is probably a no go.
I would suggest smaller tangs like a yellow or kole.
Blue, powder brown, and sailfin all grow larger than a 4 ft tank could keep comfortably.

Oh its a 4 foot tank? Yeah I dont think i would keep anything other than smaller bristletooths and maybe a yellow tang in there.

Do they stress out without 6 feet of swimming room? I didn't buy the 6" blue tang from the guy because my fish are all smaller and 1 large and a bunch of young/small would look funny. He was in a 75 gal and looked great. The guy said he was in the 75 for over a year since he down sized from a 125.

Well I had 6 in a 150 but it was a 7 ft long odd dimension tank and they get along great. Now I moved them to a 210 and it's even better but the tank is shorter but a lot more wider and taller.
