    I think they do get stressed out without the swimming room. I had a blue hippo in a 4ft tank and he got weird looking black "cracks" or peeling color under the eyes. I later moved him to a 6ft tank and the color came back and immediately started looking much better. I now have 3 tangs and all of them really do use all the length of the tank
