a healthy tang really would be able to swing against most any current, let alone a pathetic 750 gph

Especially a healthy 4" tang. I don't care if it is sucking in through the front grill or the side grills.... without something else at work there the tang wouldn't have gotten sucked into a 750 and not been able to free itself. If that was the case my similarly sized yellow would get sucked to the side of my mp40 daily as it pecks at the sides where water is pulled in from and I run it on Reef Crest mode @ 100%.

Reduce lighting, feed good quality food and observe..... I have heard of fish making it after being sucked to the side of vortechs even so as long as it wasn't on there to long it should bounce back, if its healthy enough to do so.

The condition of the fish is deteriorating. She was looking a little more active this afternoon though still having marks and a chewed up fin on her one side. This evening though she is becoming what I would call more lethargic, also looks like bruising on her side, and her face and eyes have started to be recessed. The recessed eyes and face did not appear that way this morning / afternoon.

Watch the tang to make sure there are no open marks that could get infected.
Also, how do Koralia pumps go in reverse?

The area that looks like bruising upon further inspection actually looks more like an area of missing tissue.
