The wound area is semi open, I'm guessing where she was thrashing against the basket trying to get away. Almost all of mine start in reverse frequently and have to restart them to get them to go forward.

Sorry to hear about your fishey. If it looks like she is suffering with no chance, you may want to consider euthanasia. :(

The clove oil/vodka method is probably the most humane available.

What Is the Most Humane Way to Euthanize a Fish?

    :(

Just keep an eye, she may recover, but please don't let her suffer too much if it's dire.

can you separate her and add in some stress relieving medicine? or something that helps tissue heal up?

If the tang isn't swimming right put it down, I've had two fish die on me like that.

She can swim right, but isn't just out and about swimming like normal. She mostly hovers in one spot, then swims around for a very short time, then goes back to hovering. She isn't competing with the other fish to eat, she is just grabbing what they don't go after. Normally she is a eating machine.

I agree with others above that something else was wrong causing the tang to get stuck on the ph. I had a koralia 750 and 2 425s that liked to start I reverse as well and my 2 inch tang and drawn angel had no problems with fighting the pull.

The reverse issue was the main reason I moved on to the vortech pumps. Couldn't trust my koralias to run right when I go on vacation since even a small interruption in power is all they need to run in reverse.

FWIW, I had a veyr healthy powder brown get sucked into an overflow and got caught. Fish was very healthy but was feeding too close to the edge. somehow got sucked into my CPR overflow. When I saw him, I knew he was dead. I stuck my fingers in and miraculously he was alive. he was laying FLAt on the bottom of the first Ubend! I pulled the overflow and had to dig him out with a butter knife. Fish was scarred pretty badly on one side and was missing that entire side fin. He swam gingerly for a few days and didnt feed much but made a 110% recovery.

In fact, I seem to think I had to rescue this dummy twice for this! Fish was sold down the road when I tore down the tank.

all that said, if your Koralias kick on backwards on a regular basis, I would 1. Stop turning them off or 2. Get new powerheads. I had some Koralia 4's and while one would rattle, they always started in the proper direction.

Might want to put her down gently, see my reply above about humane euthenasia. Easy process and your fish just goes to sleep. Sorry about your tang. :(
