tang

Hi all

I have bought a vampire tang a day or so ago. he was perfectly fine in the lfs, but now i have him, he become very timid and hiding all time, more worringly he wont eat - ive tried brine shrimp and red plankton, he also wont graze from any sea weed i put in there

does anyone have any suggestions??

Was it actually eating at the pet shop?
What fish do you have in with the Tang?
Try offering live brine and other types of food to coerce it to eat.
Try adding garlic to the food as a way to coerce it to eat also!

yeh it was eating fine in the shop, he even regurgatated in the bag, i'll try the garlic thing, im told fish love it

Give the fish a few days to adjust to its new environment. If it's still finicky after the long weekend, try feeding it some romaine lettuce, broccoli or seaweed and see how it does.

Like Amcarrig said, give it a few days. It's under a lot of stress

Like stated above give it some time. My tomini tang took about 5-7 days before becoming a real pig. Very shy at first.

 

It is an awesome fish. One of our, not so LFS has one...
