After doing some reading i heard that feeding tangs and other fish romaine lettus is good for them. So i got some, now what do you do with it just wash it off and put it on a clip?? How long do you leave it in there for? Thanks

People feed broccoli too. I buy the yakinori tokusen seaweed from the sushi counter at the grocery store for $3 for a 1 oz bag - which is about 1/3 of what they charge for the Julian Spring's Sea Veggies. Same exact stuff too 100% seaweed. Leave it in there until it's eaten.

I just fed my blue hippo some romaine for the first time today, she's having an ich problem and I've ordered some selcon and thought I'd throw some romaine in there since it was in the fridge. I just washed a piece of it and put it on the clip. Both her and my clarkii are enjoying it. Hopefully what I did was okay...

I'm pretty sure that romaine lettuce offers something like ZERO nutritional value. I could be wrong but I seem to remember that. It's like "cotton candy" to them, someone told me.

There is some nutritional value in both broccoli and romaine. Broccoli being better. But, it needs to be frozen prior to putting on the clip. It makes them more palatable by making them softer.

I buy fresh broccoli from the grocery wash it off and cut it up then put it on a veggie clip daily. My tangs go through a good 3" head of broccoli per day.

Yep, broccoli is much better in my book. Fresh, raw, broccoli. And a lot of the other fish love it, not just my tangs. The clowns, my blenny, and the hermits all go nuts for the stuff.

+1 it has a little but not as much as seaweed.
really its probably best to feed them nori but broccili or spinach is probably ok for a while.

My three Tangs--Powder Brown, Blue, and Yellow will only eat iceburg. I know it has no nutritional value, so I make sure they eat their regular food first and then treat the lettuce as a snack. I have tried Nori-Broccoli-Romaine-Zucchini-They just swim up to it,look at it and swim away.
