Our LFS allways says to float it and do a temp acclimate and dump just the fish in not the water.... For what its worth!

So, If I want 2 Tangs in my tank, what would y'all suggest? and purchase size? I do like the Convict Tang, but understand it gets along with No other Tangs.

In my 90 gal tank I have 1 Hippo and 1 Yellow Tang of Med size. I have seen a guy with a 90 gal tank with 5 larger size tangs and stated that he had no issues with them at all. I dont know about compatability... Mainly because everyone has there own oppinion and experiences with diffrent fish. Some work together for one person and may not work for antoher....

Very true, I have seen a guy on youtube, NewyorkSteelo that had 4 large tangs in a 90gal system, and that wasn't all the livestock. I think it was overstocked, but it was totally working for him. I'm just wanting them to stay alive!

If he's unable to support a Tang from Live Aquaria, I highly doubt he'll receive a better specimen from his local store. My first hunch is feeding.

What would you recommend as far as feeding?

i still have a hard time believing that LA would recommend the drip method if the float the bag method worked better.....especially with how quick they are to refund your money for losses.

i wonder about the feeding as well. Do you feed sheets of nori and do you witness them eating it?

i have tangs and they love current. in my tank i 5000 gph running in a 220 if i were you, i would add more current, this also increases oxygen to your fish, add another 1400 to the other side of your tank before adding tangs. tangs will get right in front of the pumps and fight the flow. i love to see them do it. get the fish one ata time float the bag unopened for 30 minutes and release the fish. they require a lot of flow. get some plain dry roasted nori from an asian market. they love it and new life spectrum marine formula pellets, brine shrimp, blood worms, mysis shrimp. these will keep him healthy

My personal suggestion: Algae sheets pre-soaked (either over night or at minimum, 30 minutes) with Brightwell's Vitamarin C, Vita-Chem and Garlic Guard. My Blonde Naso Tang will only eat algae. As a supplement, soaked brine or mysis (better choice) with the above suggestions for any tang you may have willing to take frozen foods. My highest suggestion for frozen is Rod's Food.

The Naso Tang is extremely hardy. I'm surprised you've had difficulty with this particular genus. The Acanthurus family is highly susceptible to crypto.

I do feed sheets of OmegaOne red and green seaweed via veggie clip, I have seen them pick at it some. I have also wedged into some of the rocks, and see the same reaction. Could be eating more when I'm not watching. What Nori would you recommend I try.
