sorted , had to wait until 8 pm and lights out to move the corals back into their new home

everything went almost exactly to plan

7 am started and by 10 .30 - had 2 x 25 gallon tubs full of water with filtration system split between both buckets

Single toy box was not adequate for the balance of water, so fairs, fair, both lads lost their toy boxes for the day

tank arrived at 1.30 so only 1 hour later than expected, no worries

change of plan for location of corals - my 60 gallon with calerpa, 3 snails and a hermit, plus the yellow wrasse, has 4 x 40 watt T8 lighting - but I figured put them there for a few hours is better than in the toy boxes

what I did not expect and that pleasantly surpised me was that every coral opened within 30 mins of being in the 60 and hence I waited until bed time to move them across to the 75

only problem encountered was the obvious one, despite my splitting the rock between 4 locations in order of top left/ top right/ bottom left/ bottom right meaning I at least had some idea which pieces of rock where in which locations, but you cant always get them to lie right or at the right angle etc, so it took a few aborted attempts to get them stable and to 3/4 tank height

once rock was sorted all the water went back, plus equipement and fish plus cleaner shrimps

pleasant surprise number 2 was that I only needed 50% of the fresh 10 gallons of saltwater I had made up (old SSB thrown away)

So at 8.30 after lights had been out in 60 for an hour and everything was shut up for the night, the corals where placed in the new/ old tank and I must have got the rock sorted as I did have placement positions for them all, similar to how they where when removed at 8.00 this morning

have taken pictures but cant load from this computer

got images of the corals in the temp home
    the buckets full of water
the rock in the toy boxes
and the new tank with just the rock set up
tomorrow Ill take photos with the livestock all back in and thats closure

a funny story, my son Alan offered to help me twice and only twice today

about 9.30 am when the water level was down to final inch or so and all the rock was out
he asked if he could net the fish and the shrimps - OK

and at 5.30 pm when all the water more or less was back in the tank and all the rock etc
and the last toy box was down to the final 3 inch depth - he asked me if he could net the fish and put them back - OK

and the funny part, he went to the fridge, got 2 cartons of milk tea and handed me one and said "We worked hard today didnt we Dad?"

up at 6 am and its 10.45 now, had to help the guy who arrived on his own carry the new tank up 3 flights of stairs and the old one back down, that was the single most tiring aspect of the day

    C'mon, it's only a 75 gallon tank.
Try that with a 180 and let me know how you feel ;D.
Good to hear everything went smoothly.

Thanks , yes glad it was not bigger , filling it using 2 gallon bucket and a scoop to ensure the water stayed clear, would have been real hard work in a much larger tank
