tank contoller

Think about getting a tank controller. I'm looking at a reef keeper or apex. The apex is more money. Is it worth the extra money?

 

Apex does not mean necessarily more money. Depends on what you wanna do with it.

If you're planning on going all in, Apex is actually cheaper.

I have two Reef Keeper Elite and one Reef Keeper Lite and the all work fine and have been very dependable in the last 12 months. My concern is the longevity of Digital Aquatics, the makers of these controllers. I'm not sure they are in it for the long haul and will still be round in another 2, 5 or 10 years. They are VERY slow at fixing software and hardware issues and updates are few and far between. I will not invest anymore money in their products.

So, if I was to do it again, I would buy Apex, they seem to have great customer service and take care of problems quickly AND have a Vortex control module when DA does not.

I have owned the reef keeper elite and a apex and I like the apex a lot more than the reef keeper. I feel I have more options with he apex. I recently have my apex control my stand LEDs to turn on with the door open and shutdown the skimmer when he cup is full all programmable. I didn't think I had that much granularity with the apex.
