Okay, this isn't really an emergency but it's driving me crazy. My snails are laying eggs every few days. There's no way to stop this is there ?

no, not that i am aware of. I assume that you are talking about nerites. Mine layed them nonstop for a month or two and then they started to slow down.

Yea I was going to say what's the downfall in your snails laying eggs? Sounds like some free snails to me.

If they were fertile and hatching that'd be great, but I'm not sure if they are or not.

They're probably not hatching - if they do, it's free fish food more than likely.

Mine were laying eggs real heavy at first... when the tank was dirty (read: lots of food).

Now that they've 'caught up' on cleaning and food is not as abundant, I've noticed I'm not seeing any more eggs... I assume those two things are connected.

Oh, I'm talking about my nerites.

I have never heard of someone getting nerite eggs to hatch without making special accomodations so they are probably not hatching just as peredhil said.

I just thought I'd update this... I was in the tank today and noticed quite a few little snails. It seems as if these guys are hatching. *Shrugs*

Congrats then! Maybe 1 or 2 will even survive to become adults.
