My turn to chime in to wish you well as you make a comeback from your loss.
It looks like you have gotten some really good support and sensible advice here already from others who have felt the same pain.

It is always darkest before the dawn. At the very least you know that you will always have an encouraging and supportive bunch of people here to cheer you on.

Step back, take a breath (or 10) - assess what you have - and start fresh.

You can now take the best and the worst of your experiences and lessons learned with this reef into the next one - it can only get better from here on out.

    take care

ah man so sorry for your loss! that's why if i end up leaving home by the end of the year i dont want to take my livestock with me, i would be too afraid of loosing everything after all the money and hardwork of transporting to another state.

That really sucks, id say start over and go bigger :D just another excuess for an upgrade

Sorry to hear of the loss. Me personally, I would say a few bad words, clean up the mess, take a week to think, then start again. As someone else stated the best part is starting a new tank.

I would definitely stay with it...you already have all of the equipment. Rocks and sand aren't ruined so it really wouldn't cost much to get the tank running again. Then just take it as slow as you want. Don't throw in the towel!

Now you can get more obsessed. Think of the first setup as a test run. Now you know how to care for coral and can start a MORE beautiful tank.

Sorry for your losses. Step back take some deep breaths, take so time off to get the rest of your life in place and then get back into it. You definitely would miss it judging by your response. I agree with everyone take what you have learned that works and build upon it.

I'm so sorry. That really sucks that you were able to get it moved with no issues and then boom gone. IMO, I would start it up again. I don't have that much experience, but from reading the forums and such, if you start slow, it should be pretty easy to get it back up and running again... mostly because you've had one running already. Good luck with it however. Keep us posted to if you start again or if you leave it for a bit.

I agree with PC, when I had a tank crash a couple months back, I went from a 50gal to a 125gal only because the gf and momma wouldn't let me go with a 400gal;D
Stick in there. This hobby has too much advantages. Well except for the empty wallet;)
