i have a newly setup 40 gal tank thats cycling which has 20kgs of cured live rock,40lbs of live sand.

i was told that i may not get ammonia spike etc??
    can this happen?

so if it can and my results are always at 0 where do you go from there?
mabe add a few inverts after 8 weeks?

my tank has been setup for 4 days now and my results are still at 0???
should it have started by now

It can happen if you have nothing to decay in there. My advice would be to throw a raw shrimp in there and let it rot. This will cause an ammonia spike and kick start the cycle.

congrats on the new tank! Do alot of reading on this forum while you wait for your tank to cycle. There are different methods to get your cycle going some are favored over others. Type in cycling in the search box and you should see some methods. main thing is be patient and go slow.Good luck.
