Tank Cycling

yeah I posted that at work today and then when I got home and tested my water there is a rise in ammonia levels from to .25ppm no nitrites or nitrates yet, but as you said I would much rather be safe then sorry. I plan on letting the tank run for 6 weeks before I add any live stock, unless the water params tell me different.

 

Did you buy the rock from Tropi-quatics? Overpriced IMO, I got a couple extra pieces I can spare as well obviously fully cured and w/ some coralline as well. The best rock in the entire area is in schaumburg that I have seen, over at beyond the reef. Its a bit of a drive though, unless your out there for some other reason, like christmas shoppin at woodfield. As for tropiquatics, I sold them some rock once too but most of the time they just have plain cured rock but its connected to their invert and coral tank and not sittin in some tub so it should not cause too much of a spike I would think. Anyway, whenever you want it let me know, I'll trade you for some Karma, probably a good 3-5 lbs to spare maybe

I put 10lbs of lr in my biocube 14g and i never saw anything spike....i tested every day but just to be safe i still waited a month
