Thanks for the props;D and yes I did a ton of planning but feel like I still have a ton more to go. I guess that's good, it will keep me form getting bored.

The room behind is going to house more tanks and equipment. The 2 white doors open into a 3' x 10' closet that is going to be absoloutely packed. Don't know if it showed in the picture, but the wrought iron door opens into the new wine cellar. The same guy who built my stand is starting work on my wine racks -- solid cherry, floor to ceiling, should hold around 2000 bottles (feel free to send contributions to help fill her up):wink3:

To be honest it would speed up the process of establishing the tank if you used live rock but as we know patience is a virtue! As for power heads it really depends on what you plan on stocking your tank with? Anenomes will move around and get sucked into koralias if your not careful.

    Ask and ye shall receive.
My oldest son and I spent a few hours tonight unpacking the six boxes of Pukani and then started on our practice aquascape.

Believe it or not that's 300lbs there. The framers square in the bottom pic is 48" long.

We worked for about an hour on laying out rock in our mock-up of the tank. The best part is that my son was really getting excited about the whole process. He said that it's as much fun as building Legos.

I'm going to have several smaller tanks plumbed into the main system. It's not quite the same thing as having his own tank but it will allow a place to some not-so-reef-friendly fish that the kids would like to have.

I think that at the surface, thats a great idea, but what happens when your offsprings decide to put "things" into "their" tanks. Thats like placing a rotting apple in a basket of a dozen fresh ones. I would be very scared to do that in my house. Good luck with that.
