    about 3 months

    3 weeks with fish

one week ago i tested anything

    phosphates at .5

    carbonates at 125
    nitrate at 0
    calcium is at 480-500
    ammonia is 0-.25
    ph is 8.2
    and nitrite = 0

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Very common with new tanks dellyjoe, that is why it is soooo important to stock slowly.

The tank is not established enough to support a lot of new fish and inverts and the feedings that go along with that.

Remove manually, feed lightly, decrease photoperiod, ro/di only, and time. You can try some GFO/Phosban.......

Post a picture if you could please.

You gotta get the phosphate number down to 0.05 ppm at least.

It will go away but you have to limit the fuel for the algae. Decrease nutients to the tank, weather it is coming from foods, other products, water source..........

What are you feeding and how often?

Here are the steps I am taking to rid myself of algae:

    1. Pulled it out/scrub rock with toothbrush
    2. Water changes (to reduce Nitrate levels) with RO/DI water
    3. Decrease lighting times
    4. Decrease Feedings
    5. Add a Nitrate sponge
    6. Add a phosphate remover (Phosban/ROWAphos)
    8. Add mexican turbo snails
    9. Add Macro Algae (sump)

If all else fails you could take the lawnmower to it......Lawnmower Blenny that is.

blenny just gets rid of it, does help him with how to prevent in the future or why its happening. it has to do with too much nutrients and light scrubbing 4 times a day seems extreme though. its just a period in new tanks though so it should go away.

You sure that a lawnmower blenny can help? I have red and green hair algae and he doesn't eat any of it XD. In any case, if you don't want an algae blenny, use RO water, which is what I'm going to use soon to get rid of my problem.
