A lawnmower blenny will do just that,it will mow it down,it will not fix the issue of excessive nutreints in the water column.I am having the same issues myself on a 4ish month old tank myself, the suggestions above are the way to correct the problem-water changes, less feedings, less light cycle(are your bulbs old?was it a used fixture?)using 0 tds ro/di water, etc. That's the reason i'm posting this as i'm going through the same,it is very normal for this to happen in a newer tank as it goes through many stages of maturing, but it is also equally important to takes the proper steps to erradicate the issues causing this to prevent long term and continuous troubles down the road.

just wanted to add to this thread
that algae in young tanks or systems is normal

the only things that vary are A - When it makes an appearance and B the extent and type of algae experienced

If you used live rock cured or uncured, there will be phosphates locked up inside the rockwork
GFO cannot help you with those phosphates as they are not in the water column and as such cannot be removed by any type of filtration

the algae uses the nutrients and when the algae dies off, those nutrients are released into the water and thats when the GFO can do its work for you

this creates a situation, whereby the PO4 locked in the rock has been utilised and thus future algae outbreaks, provided you, have good quality water (RODI) feed sensibly and dont overstock etc and continue the use of GFO , should be non existant to minimal

basically - let the algae do its job of utilising the PO4 in the rockwork and then harvest the algae to remove the P04 its absorbed
