    Try liveframing. There are a couple ways to do it. You can drill through the LR with a masonry and frame it together using PVC. Or you can hold it together with acrylic rods. In your case, because width is a problem, maybe try mounting a piece of starboard flush to the inside back of your tank. You would then use the starboard as an anchor point to hook on LR with PVC and epoxy. This way you could create a stable wall that sits very flush to the back of the tank, giving the appearance of more space. I would increase the circulation in you system if you did that though.

    I hope that makes sense. I did not want to write a novel, but if you need more explanation don't hesitate to ask. I wish I had a link or something I could send you...

    i wouldn't bother plumbing a 55 because you're gonna get real tired of the narrowness eventually and upgrade, i'd wait till then to start drilling holes,j.m.o.
    you could hide the equipment behind the rock though,add some more rock,other than that i think i'd leave it be,nice looking tank!

    Hey hit, sometimes seeing others tanks helps. I have a 55 gal. (narrow) but the aqua scape can make it appear to have more depth. Here is mine;
