No, the floor is not damp and the wood is just slightly damp.....in that one spot...there is a lot of salt creep there and as I said, I just leave it....there is no other solution??? I probably should just buy another tank then??

It was just one little spot where two glass panes came together in the front near the bottom. It was a five sided corner not the bowfront kind. Then one night I came home and there was a small stream of water shooting across the room.

If it is a leak in your tank, IMO its not worth repairing. It happened to me on my old 90 gallon last year. I completely drained my tank, scraped out the silicone where the leak was and re-sealed it and a couple of months later it ended up leaking on me again so I just ended up buying a new tank. For all the effort you put into repairing it only to risk it leaking again is not worth it to me. Sorry its not what you wanted to hear but it just my take on it.

Well, that was my thinking as well, in terms of if I end up tearing it all down, I may as well purchase another tank. I put a paper towel down where the wood is wet and I'm going to monitor it.....it's definitely on the inside corner and I'm wondering if the wet spot may have been from salt creep melting when it fell down from the corner. The wood directly under the tank is not wet....

I appreciate all the input. If anyone out there has a reinforcement method I could use from the outside, I'd still love to hear it.....had a nightmare last night that I woke up to find a huge crack over the entire front of my tank - phew! glad I woke up and found out it was dream :)

As mentioned, the only way to seal it is from the inside. Best recommendation I can give is to get a new tank and change it over unfortunately.

Sorry bout your luck. For the peace of mind, best to break down the tank and fix it or buy a new tank. I'd just be too paranoid that my "leaking" tank could burst open on me at any moment.

New tank. Sooner rather than later.
Leaks CAN go from tiny to big rather quickly.

    Sorry Guy!

I don't know of anything that would for other than a very short time. When my tank leak happened the stream of water was small enough that some duct tape reduced it to a steady drip as I was emptying the tank but I knew immediately that replacing the tank was the only option I would feel comfortable with.

ok, in looking at the tank, I removed the salt creep and will see what happens..but it's interesting, I have salt creep in the right front corner as well......so, two leaks? does that make sense? I wish I wouldn't have gotten concerned about it because now I'm paranoid.....how do I identify if the salt creep is from a leak??? What does a leak look like? does it seep out slowly, drip? I just don't know what I should be looking for....
