My 55Gal has started to slowly leak from the bottom...I can't tell if its a seal at the bottom, or from the glass itself (as its on the bottom, I have not been blessed with the strength to lift up a full tank and take a peak )

While this is definitely accelerating my plans to upgrade to a larger tank, in the meantime, until I can get a new tank this weekend, will everything be alright in a 30-gal rubbermaid container I have if I fill it with tank water, then add the LR and fish (only 2 clowns and a cleaner shrimp), along with the filtration?

The rubbermaid container is currently used to store RO/DI water for top-offs, so it's clean, and I can rig up a stand to put my lighting over it and use eggcrate for a top.

    Thanks

    That should work fine.
Are you sure the tank is leaking? If you spill water down the front back or sides it will gather on the trim ring at the bottom and make it appear as if the tank is leaking...
    I speak from experience!

If the tank is leaking I'd go through with your plan. Sounds like a good one...

I assumed at first is was a spill or a lose connection to the HOB skimmer or Phosban Reactor, but you can actually see the water comming from the very very tiny gap between the stand and tank edge. I've got some towels stuffed in there now to soak up the water, they seem to just get damp after about 12 hours, so it's not a fast leak...yet.

You will be fine with the rubbermaid container set up. I had to do the same thing when I replaced my floors. Ended up not loosing a single critter (I actually found one that I assumed was dead from months ago). Great opportunity for a water change too.

I to have had to do the same thing. Didn't loose anything and I had them in the rubbermaid for a week or more.
