    I don't have an ATO, so I personally top off my tank every day, keeping my levels constant.

    from the 5 years i have experience and multiple tanks ive had i found that the red algae come from lack of filtration i just actually had a tank setup and filter took a crap and few days later i had that red stuff added new filter yesterday and it is almost all cleared up today already

    Are you talking about just a regular mechanical filter?

    I've recently had a similar experience. I went a few months without a filtersock and all cyano hell broke loose. You may be over feeding or require some additional filtration.

    You are feeding too much plain and simple. I have 46g tank with a big clown and a dottyback and hardly ever feed them. In a tank that big you should have alot of pods and be able to feed a few pellets a week to those guys. The halide might help your corals grow but it will definitely help the GHA grow!

    Yes I have tons of dwarf ceriths and some nassarius snails
