    Hello,

I have a 100 gallon salt water aquarium and I'm running a 35 gallon sump filtration system with caulerpa and an Evo 120 skimmer. It has been cycled and running for a year, yet no amphipods have grown.

The Caulerpa has not grown, nor are there any pods growing on my rock. I just bought a copperband butterly and there doesnt seem to be any food for it to eat.

    Please Help !

Copperbands don't usually eat copepods, but to answer your question, you may have bought rock and algae that simply didn't have any. Find a tank at your lfs or another hobbyist that has pods, and see if you can get some algae from that system. That should kick start your pods.

I don't own any copperbands, but I have had mine up for 6 months, and I couldn't kill all of my pods if I tried.....

I'm Not trying to make a bad feeling feel any worse, believe me. I first looked into buying pods, because just as you seem to already know, they are good to any healthy reef, but after I bought a few pounds of live rock, they just seemed to flood the tank. What you should consider is any inhabitants you may have in the tank already that feed on pods. From what I've gathered, pods breed easily so long as they don't have predators constantly eating them. What have you kept in your tank so far?

I have to ask, what do your lvls come out as? I just had a loss of my own, and when I thought everything was doing fine, I went and stirred up the substrate, (DSB, from a new power head add-on) and created a mini spike that (with an already stressed out system) killed my coral beauty and my rock skipper. I'm only asking out of experience of a recent die off, and not trying to be a nosy parameter policeman.
