    Sorry for your loss

    I'm new here and this is my first post. I may have the same problem. I just started a tank and its cycling right now. I have just a few pieces of live rock and a yellow tail. The next day after putting in two Maxi Jet 900s into my tank the yellow tail died. And my test kit just ran out of tests to test the water. If the water comes out ok when I get my new test kit in this will be my next thought of what happened.

    Sorry for your loss. Ditto on the stray/lose voltage, check with a voltmeter first.

    Not here! If your tank is crashing then you have done something seriously wrong. :-/

    Check for stray voltage!

    Voltage probable problem.

    Somehow may have caused/or contributed an oxygen depletion in tank. :-/

    Tank Covered?

    Am so sorry.

    Keep us posted...all here would like to hear what you figure out.

    Good Luck!

    I am really sorry for your loss, man. Definitely don't give in, I know how tough it is, but the old adage "get back up on the horse" certainly applies here.

    I certainly know some that have had tank crashes, but more that have not..I am knocking on wood here...

    I am so obsessive about the tank, as I am sure most of us are. No one in the house sprays any type of aersol products in the room. We use no ammonia based window cleaner in that room(heard a guys ammonia shot through the roof as his wife was using windex on a table near the tank), have a carbon monoxide detector in the room, and the list goes on...

    I am running a 4 and a nano and have had no problems...

    Karma+++

    I am sorry this happened to you. I agree it sound like a electrical problem. Needless to say under no circumstances should you stick any part of you body grounded or not into that tank to test it.

    I would purchase grounding probe first, then take pump back to where you purchased it and see if they will help you out.

    CLOWN FISH MADE IT!!! :D So i'm down to ... possibly a star fish (can't tell), maybe an urchin (can't tell until they move), my electric flame scallop is somewhat reacting to movement near him, the anemone ate this morning, hermits seem fine, one emerald crab (out of 2) is left, boxer crab is still in there, snails seem ok so far too.. Total losses = kole tang, damsel (which is was trying to catch anyways), lawnmower blennie, emerald crab, some random inverts potentially.. can't really tell and some might be in the cracks of liverock.. getting a grounding probe tomorrow and checking for voltage within the next 5 mins.. will get back to you guys then... thanks for the help. definately not quiting. no ammonia based cleaners are used in the room, all deaths are being removed from the tank, checked water again and have more water being mixed as I type. Thanks for the support and even more thanks for the help! Keep reefin guys and i might be talking to my online powerhead provider about some free livestock he owes me...
