So i ordered 125 reef ready tank. It will be in my TV room. The guy in LFS store sad to make overflow even more quiet use 2 holes in overflows boxes as drains and he will drill two returnes in back glass. What do you think? 4 drains makes tank more silent than 2 ?????

Technically, that is true. It is usually not needed though, if your pump is properly tuned to the system.

What size of drain lines did you get?

Overflow style and return pump rating make more difference. Hofer gurgle busters are very quiet. However if you have dual overflows and pump the overflows to the max then they will make as much noise (or more) than one, how you have the sump plumbed also makes a big difference.

Tank should be on tuesday. 125 All Glaas with 2 overflows. Not sure what size drains. I think 1". Will be using the same pump i have on my 90 gal. Gen-X 40 <1200 g/h>. So it is true that more drains makes it quieter? With that pump you guys think it is a good idea????? Thanks..

just make sure where the water comes into the sump that it leaves the pipes below the water line so you don't get a crashing sound there, alot of the times that is where most of the noise is generated

I definitely would NOT put an overflow box on a drilled tank. My 125 overflows are silent. Just design the overflow correctly.

Adding an overflow is reducing the reliability of your tank and not adding funnctionality. Bad move in my opinion.

Run a herbie drain setup, and plumb your returns to come over the top of the tank. That will be the quietest, yet most reliable drain setup.
