I am looking at getting two clownfish and the prices are either 20$ for the wild ones; or for the captive bred ones are 30$. Is it really worth the extra 10$. I think the captive bred ones are from ORA? Or I can buy them at petco for 16.98 which are captive bred. Is buying fish from a chain company that bad? Thanks!

Captive bred seem to be hardier fish. Plus, you would be encouraging a sustainable practice, a opposed to taking them directly off of a living reef. It's up to you, of course.

Liveaquaria now has tank bred ocellaris for the same price as wild, which is good I think as it encourages more people to buy them. I will be getting tank bred when I get mine. As mentioned they are supposed to be hardier and save the reef :)

    Quarantine ANY new additions. Right?

If you have a good DT/stable, etc, go with the cheapest/best looking ones, and Quarantine!

Soo what woud I need to quarentine? I am going to petco and going to take advantage of their 1$ per gallon sale. I think that I wont need sand or lr, just some pvc pipe. Then what kind of filtration would you recommend? Sponge? Aquaclear 20?

its always best to at least look into gettting captive bred fish to avoid putting further strain on wild populations. many fish however cant even be bred in captivity and we still purchase them so really it only comes down to the actual fish. tank raised do tend to be hardier although any clownfish is going to be very hardy. wild caught clowns are less picky when it comes to hosting anemones. many wild caught sometimes dont even notice an anemone.

You don't need live rock or sand; just the pvc pipe! And a seeded sponge filter (that has been in your sump or DT) is all you should need for filtration. Then a light and heater and you are good to go!

I have heard that you shouldn't have a light? Is that true?

You need a light to see the fish and check for disease, but nothing else. So off all of the time except during inspections and feeding :)
