    I always vote for captive bred! The amount of fish and reef that dies in wild caught is ludicrous.

    ORA are a great choice, buy tank bred fish, it saves the reefs!

    +1 for captive bred. It's not just to prevent disease/illness/stresses (as mentioned in this thread), but for sustainability of the organism, and ocean-life as a whole. Of course, we can currently only find just a very small portion of fish species as captive bred, when compared to the myriad of wild caught species available to us in the trade. Although it is more expensive, I feel strongly that this is an important role for us as hobbyists and fish enthusiasts.

    lol. Yeah, I meant captive/tank bred. I can see why that would be misleading. Sorry about that, just fixed it.

    Thanks! I will buy the captive bred ones! Then one more question. I will be going to San Diego and i was wondering if I could bring shells back for my tank. I would dry them out first so I wouldn't bring back any unwanted hitch hikers.

    Yeah, I'd rinse them well, let them bake and should be fine, I have a ton of shells from florida in mine;)
