    I imagine you will be fine. It is just a safety measure. I have never had the rockwork fall and break the tank, but it does happen. With all the things that can go wrong that would be the last of my worries.

    Yes vacume the sand with water changes, just the top most layer. Disturb as little of the sandbed as possible.

    Well, there's 2 ways of going about it. Some people just leave the sand and never touch it. Some people will, every 2 weeks, stir up the sand with their finger, let the sediment fall to the bottom, and just vacuum up that. The thing is, if you clean the sandbed, you absolutely have to do it regularly. If you leave it for too long between cleanings, you can have problems in the tank after you stir it up.

    I wonder if that's where my cyano outbreaks are coming from, bc when vacuuming I dig probably half way down into my substrate.

    if you intend on putting corals , i would not overstock with LR

    30lbs should be sufficient. I had 120lbs in my 125G and thats wayy to much!! Don't like to see the tank full of rocks and no inhabitants.

    ya ali1 that is what i was thinking i just have 31 lb or rock and i can't wait until i can start putting in corals
