I am looking to upgrade from a 24 gal reef to a tank that can not exceed 48 inches in length. Gallon size does not matter to me but I prefer larger than a 40gal. Can you guys suggest a good reef tank or brands for me to look at to purchase.

    Thanks.

Thanks guys for the recommendations, I think 75 gal is a good choice. I heard glass is better than acrylic but like the acrylic due to ease of drilling, but then again, glass looks easy to drill as well.

I wouldn't get acrylic unless you want an odd size tank. I've got too many scratches in my glass tank. Can't imagine what acrylic would like over time.

Do you actually see the scratches on the outside or is it on the inside when cleaning the algae and coraline of the glass?

majority are on inside, multiple fine scratches from just repeated use of an algae magnet is normal
and some very pronounced ones , should you get sand trapped in the magnet

these become even more obvious as they provide ideal real estate for some of the more stubborn green algae, and the vicious circle is complete, when you have to work harder to remove said algae and in the process , probably add a few more micro scratches
