tank salt water hard or soft?

    well if thats the case my shower puts out hard water icould just use water from the tap

    Yep, if you get rid of the Phosphorus, nitrates, Iron, and the chloramines (Ammonia and Chlorine)

    And copper, lead, arsenic, VOCs, SOCs, fuel byproducts, silicates and hundreds of other things allowed in drinking water at whatever levels. It may be safe to drink but it will have an adverse effect on a reef tank.
