Do get a GFI for your power strip.

    HI,
I have all my power strip plugged into a GFI drop cord, saltwater tanks will short sooner or later there's a thing called salt in the water and it will cause salt bridges on lights, outlets and anywhere you spill saltwater. Most glass heaters will short sooner or later most pumps can have minor leakage of power.
If you have a gfi it will trip the circuit instantly and you will not require any defribulation. hehe:p
Other wise be sure you freinds know CPR.
    Doug,
My wife calls me sparky cause my hair seems to stand up all the time after getting shocked.

All reasons to get a ground probe for your tank, stray voltage is nothing to mess with, and they are very cheap. Can cause serious harm to the tank. I wouldn't use tap water, RODI only, especially if you can get it at a LFS close by.

LET THERE BE LIGHT, water, sand and live rock!! Man this tank rocks.. So I picked up a powerstrip with a timer built in it. Works great it has seven on off settings. Here is a picture of the tank ready to rock and roll. Well after a few weeks I will be able to rock some fishy's.

Amen to that. Why take the chance when this ounce of prevention averts a ton of misery?

Looks great, can't really add anything except to tell you read the following links they will tell you allot. Also can't stress the word "PATIENCE" enough.

I don't agree with everything in these articles but they all have great points. Everyone has an opinion just as you will learn and formulate your own.

Good luck, enjoy, and as always keep us informed...
