I'm thinking of buying a 65g rectangular, 36' long. But recently found a 90 gallon cube 30x30. I'd like to have a tang or two. Would the 90g provide enough length for tangs?

Depends what kind of tang you are thinking of.
I'd say a 90 can only keep 1 of the smaller sized tangs like yellows, koles etc..

Maybe a kole, but I still would want a 4 foot tank even for that smaller tang. No tang in a 30" cube.

+1 none of them, even my kole flies around too much for that IMO, but the bristletooths are the only ones to even consider, def not a yellow.

the 36" tank is still too small for any tang I would keep.
