tank springs a leak

    I have had my 44gal diamond shaped reef tank for six years and last week it met its end....
    I guess the silicone joints on the tank were on their way out but our cat made sure to finish it off. I had a chair pulled up next to the tank where the cat sat and clawed at the fish, one of her claws managed to penetrate the silicone where the two panels of glass butted into each other.
    Well water started pissing out onto the floor and luckily i was in the room and heard it and quickly drained the tank and transferred everything into totes liverock fish and all.
    I had to buy and setup a new system quickly so the next morning I went to the pet store and bought a new 90gal drilled, stand, sump and skimmer and spent a week setting it all up.
    Added the last of the live stock four days ago and everything made it did not lose anything. Everything seems much happier in the new setup and I had an excuse to upgrade.

    I have an older tank but no cat lol so I hope mine holds out a while, so lucky you were at home to see that because that could have been ugly.

    I had the same tank(44corner) and had the same thing happen,minus the cat,so I don't think I would really blame him.My tank was about seven years old,settled for a 40breeder,congrats on the upgrade!
