my main problem that caused my cyano was my tank was not matured fully, stocking to quickly & over feeding big time!
Although my tank did the whole cycle thing in the first few months and showed o ammonia & o nitrite ( at which point i started to stock) it took the full 6 months for the nitrate to get to o.
I also first set my tank up with treated tap water which i switched to ro.
i stopped stocking the tank for the past 3 months to give it time to catch up with the bio load took the feeding down to once ever two to three days & used a product called antired to wipe the really bad load off cyano to get me off to a good start!.
I guess it really dose take at least 6 months to stabalse & mature reef tanks!
    Thanks K;)

Yep I did, I took tangsters advice & it did the job + got my phos & nitrate to 0 so it has nothing for it to feed . I also added Halimatida algea & reduced feedings and did some major skimmer cleaning. its been gone for 2-3 months now with no regrowth.
    Thanks K
