also, what would make my aquarium look better and brighter.. as in bringing the color to the fish and tank it self.. i saw some backgrounds at foster and smiths that are 72'' 30''... 25 dollars without shipping.
thats the biggest i can find.
    black or blue?

Petco or basically any big chain store should have 'em.

The black will set off colors best. A deep blue does well also.

What I would do & have done several times before..when the father gets paid, I say "Here's $50, can you order this overflow kit for me?":) Works most the time. Worked for me with a digital camera & some aquarium stuff. lol

Yeah sorry about the fish. I also thought that was something behind your tank.....didn't realize it was a "background". Definitely could do better with a nicer background? Your tank & fish are too nice.
Dunno, painting would probably make it too "plain"? There has to be a nice background that will fit. At my LFS, they've got rolls & rolls of them.

How wide is the part of the background you actually see? One alternative would be to get a taller background(you said there were some that were extra tall) & put it sideways..

i considered painting but i thought that maybe someday i would like to change the color and painting it wouldnt allow me it without having to work to take the paint off.

Now i cant really paint it since its all set up and can not move the tank at all so i cant. I thought of buying a black background from fosters and smiths but im leaving for college on saturday.. idk if it would be here by then.

Im coming to my house every weekend so im still going to be incharge of the tanks..
