Tank Upgrade ...Lighting Too?

Im upgrading my 30g glass to a 36g acrylic bf soon. I currently have a Coralife ballast with a 50/50 65w bulb (new bulb 2 months ago). The new tank will be 3 inches deeper. Will I need to upgrade my bulb and/or ballast? Ive read that acrylic allows more light and uv penetration. Any thoughts?

 

Probably not, but if you wish to go to SPS corals I would upgrade to a 4 X 24W T5HO unit at least.

what are you planning to keep for corals?

 

I have the shrooms so far ....Ill slowly add some kind of carpet anemone, zoas ...Im not sure what else. My tank has been fish only until last year when I added the shrooms. I have allot to learn before I decide. I dont want my corals eating my fish ....or vice versa!
