    Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen ;) I've known tanks to have ammonia/nitrites/nitrates spike up then drop back down to "0" literally overnight so unless you're sleep testing, it's possible that your nitrites rose and fell while you were snoozing :D

    thanks guys.do you think he is safe to add a fish then as it should of cycled.also he will be signing up to 3reef shortly due to the advice you guys can give;D
