Why.. because they want a piece of the ocean, can afford someone to take care of it properly and have it on an awesome scale? At least they aren't killing stuff off doing it half ass on there own.

I never understand hating on people for being successful then using that to chase there hobbies. For some people, it's about the process. For others it's about the fish. IF you can afford to have someone keep your aquarium perfectly allowing you more time to enjoy and less to worry with it, would you not?

That house is obviously a passion to them, same as my tank is to me. They had every right to be snoody. That house is a showcase in and of its self.

 

I don't care that someone is rich or has more many than me. That's dumb. I'm saying - get involved in the hobby. See what it is like to care for the aquarium yourself. I think there is much more pleasure in the hobby when you learn about something and then accomplish it yourself...rather than having someone else do everything for you. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point in a reef tank if all it is is a picture on the wall.

It's their attitude that I am annoyed by - not the fact that they have money.

 

I think the show presented them to be more pretentious than they were. I would hope they are more involved than it seemed.. but I guess how involved can you be when you don't even pick out your own fish!!

And come one... even if your reef tank is just a picture on the wall... WHAT A FREAKING SWEET PICTURE! hehe... (wouldn't you love to keep there tank though, you can frag there sps all day long as "maintenance")

 

LOL! 1000+ This show really isn't about caring for one IMO. to me theres not enough "reef hobby pasaz" in it. The car tank it awesome to me.

 

Has the show even aired yet?

 

Last night was the season premiere.

I wonder if anyone has told the producers of Tanked about this thread. They could really benefit form reading threads like these. I think it would help all those poor fish that are going to die as a result of this show.

 

A few people commented on the Reef Builders article, suggesting of negligence and improper care of fishes/livestock... Brett, from 'Tanked'/ATM actually replied to those comments on the Reef Builders article. It was in all CAPS LOCK LIKE THIS and quite obnoxious. That wasn't taken very well by other hobbyists. lol.

That is awesome that he actually posted. He shouldn't of used all CAPS in responding though. He even gave out his contact info in his last post. I'm sure he won't be able to keep up with his inbox. lol
