haha. I didn't agree with everything he said, but it is cool that he gave contact info. But heck - even haters are still publicity for the company; well, for the show at least.

I saw the preview and had to cringe. Did you see all the sharks packed into a tank they hadnt even cycled yet? Then they send some lady in with a mop handle or something to put decorations in it.... Really? I honestly hope the show crashes and burns. Especially because a few people have come to me and been like "Hey, lets watch that." Because they know I have an aquarium addiction. Id rather watch anything else on tv. Except for all that finding bigfoot crap on the discovery channel.... Tv is a disgrace to the human race. lol done ranting now.

This is the point I keep bringing up. How do we know it wasnt cycled yet? Did we see them cut open a bag orf caribsea sand add it and one guy pouring water & one dumping scoops of salt at the same time? did we hear them say forget the cycle, throw that fish in there!? The show is an hour long, they didnt jsut build what you seen, that show can be filmed over days, weeks & months then editted together. You dont know.

How much goes on behind the scenes that we dont see? We just assume that because they build the tank that everything they use if fresh out the box or bag. Truth is they could be using cycle stuff & equipment from any number of sources.

The girl was in the tank with her feet. ok so what? how many of us have hand and arm disease where you are reaching in your tank weekly if not daily? What is the difference other than they did it on tv?

There have been some of the people on here that run shops, maintenance companies etc do threads about the tanks they set up in a day for a special event, and people oooh and aaah over them and +K rains down from the heavens. Someone outside the circle of trust does it and they are eveil and should be set ablaze. cmon now.

Some of us (myself included) need to slow down and think about the positives of this show for a minute. Sure its corny blah blah but also at the same time this show can help bring alot of life & attention to this hobby, along with that comes new equipment, new makers, new livestock websites, business & importers. Yes the price will probably go up some and specific things will get harder to find, but there are positives here.

All you need to cycle is the filter media. I am not sure what they are using, maybe bioballs or something. They are building fish only tanks, so, that may be fine. They could certainly have big tanks of bioballs constantly cycling, waiting for new tanks. I think on the info side though the show was crap and makes things look too easy and provides a lot of bad info and impressions.

I just set up a series recording, and I can't wait to see the show. As a side note, I found this... Animal Planet :: Fish Guide -- Main which looks pretty good in offering basic information.
