Tanked season 2

I saw the one that looked like an old juke box on Ebay for 10K! I don't think their clients keep the custom tanks very long.

 

Yeah,the telephone booth tank ended up on craigslist,lol.But if I recall right,i think they had marital or financial issues.

 

I'm not a fan of the goof ball antics. I mean, the show basically revolves around the goof ball stuff and you get snippets of the tank building\setup. It should be the other way around, more about the tank builds and snippets of them goofing off.

 

That the problem,it's a goofy reality show out for entertainment ratings.We know these guys are not idiots,theres so much that goes on behind the scenes,but the general audience don't care about how they do thier filtration,building stands,lighting and on and on.I too would love to see so much more behind the scene stuff,but unfortunately,it's geared towards hollywood tv ratings,which leaves us hobbiest always wanting more.We're a pretty elite group compaired to the general population and numbers = money :-/

 

I dunno man. Let's compare it to a reality show.
Pawn Stars. They have some goofy stuff going on. But they show the down and dirty business for a good 90% of the time. The other 10% is them having a little fun. Keeps you entertained and also is very informative.

Tanked. The show is about 60% goofing off to 40% business. Not entertaining because it gets annoying and not informative because they only show a little bit of what s going on. I don't fault the guys in the show, they do what they do, and having fun is part of making a job worth going to on a daily basis. It's the fact that the producers are not very good and think everyone wants to see the one dude trying to prank the other guy.

 

I just remember that Achilles tang they had in the 100 gallon tank for the casino was awesome looking! You know this is the tank that they had to dump ice into to cool it off because when they first filled it it was 93 degrees! And a few hours later it had fish in it! ***?

 

There have been quite a few stories of thier builds coming down and being sold. That is where it is at with life in the build it type shows though. Take a trip to ebay and look at all the OCC bikes, pimp my ride or bikes form the biker build off series for sale. Truth is alot of these are big money items and people jump in on them with those big burning wallets then later find out the hundreds of dollars of up keep or the bigger bank hit of paying someone to do it. I dont think its a them or the build I think that its a owner related thing.

 

The skateboard ramp build imo was just plain stupid. I think if they really cared about the livestock they wouldnt have done that one for sure. How many times have you told someone not to tap on the glass, the fish dont like it, now a skateboard ramp? Seriously, if you want to experience what the fish go thru anytime someone skates that ramp stick your head in a bucket and let someone hit it with a good size stick. I imagine it would be most unpleasent. That being said I will probably avoid that show this season, those two guys dont deserve the time. The fabrication parts are alright, but I cant stomach another season of their antics. And I felt bad for all the fish they buy.

 

WEll I'm feeling less than enthused anymore. I only saw a part of an episode last year, so didn't experience all these antics I'm hearing. Well let's hope the tone it down a bit.

 

No,cosmo,everybodys right on this,it's more comical/stupid than interesting,if you're hoping to watch a tank come together,well...you'll be pretty disappointed.Like Chumslick said,you get just a smidget of a build and a ton of goofing off and practical jokes.I do find it entertaining,but not informational.It's not geared for us reefers.:-/
