They said it was water from a hot water line in the hotel. Why have 20 boxes of fish ready to put in a 1 hr old tank? Like I said, real or fake its the wrong message to send out.

I didn't hear it say from the hotel I just heard em say the water was hot. It on again so I'll just pop in at the end and listen again. If they did my bad.

Edit: my bad just saw em running the water from the hotel tap. That is pretty crazy filling with tap mixing and putting fish right in. Unless they are just saying they did that and didn't actually have the fish waiting right there.

I agree! And you know what's worse... We are going to have another nemo disaster after finding nemo 2 hits theaters also.
The best we can do is to help out with good advice as much as we can I guess

Even though i would like for them to have showed or at least mentioned a little bit more about proper husbandry, i agree with you. I am sure these people would not be as successful if the fish kept dying on them. "expected casualties'' wouldnt make them as popular as they are IMO.

Also, like you mentioned, I am sure that these people have everything set up properly. Just because they dont show it, it doesnt mean they dont have it.

The part where they add all the fish at once isnt something that concerns me. I am sure that those tanks have everything they are supposed to have to support that many fish added at once. ( cycled rock, sand, good skimmer etc etc...)

I am not concerned about them using tap water either.. I've used tap water for 3 years so... I saw they left a huge space for "filtering".. Im sure they have reactors, huge skimmers, and what not under there. If they went to detail about that, this show would be boring..
With that said, i actually enjoyed this show and looking forward for the next one.

Yes, they said hot water line from the hotel. Then they added ice right to the water?? Not to mention they used crushed coral.. Now seriously what the HELL!!! If they were using hot water lord knows why?? Why didn't they just switched to cold water DUH! Nice tanks, but the WRONG message!!! No details on how they added the salt, though they mention that they tested the salinity & PH. Again no mention of what those setting should be set to. Great for veterans, but not for new comers to learn from.

To all new comers, DO NOT ADD HOT TAP WATER to your tank! No to mention, it's a good way to damage your tank..

I didn't like how they misidentified certain fish and what their job was in the reef (like the Blue Spotted Puffer has a sharp nose to eat algae). The highlight for me was the wife going into the shark tank. That's about one of the only right things they did that you can do with an aquarium.
