Hello. I'm thinking of getting two of the Taotronics 120w for my 120 gal. Its 24" deep x 60" long. Will 2 of these work well for this size tank and will the light in the tank look consistent or will I see bright areas under the lights with darker areas in the middle (between the fixtures) and edges of the tank?

I am just getting the tank set up and plan to have LPS and softies and then eventually SPS.

    Hi Bustopher.

My concern with using 3 is that my tank has a brace right in the center and I think it would cast a shadow if a 3rd light was placed directly above center.

Do you have experience with these? Any pics? I would really enjoy seeing some diff types of set ups using these lights.

I have 2 over my 125gallon... Other then the slight shadow of the two center braces, I have no issues with them

I cut the two braces out on my 125 and replaced them with cell cast 5/16" acrylic. The light will make it through on my setup...

I have 3 of the 120's on my 125 and I can grow anything I want. They say they can replace a 400 Watt mh so you do have to be careful when you first start running then because you will bleach or burn corals

Thanks. I got them 9 months ago and started the lights high and slowly dropped them down.
