Oh, then you may be able to pull it off with 2. Most people have 2 braces for 3 holes on 60"s.

I did not know that. I thought two braces were just on the 72" (6ft) 125 gal but i suppose diff manufacures may do things differently:p. Good to know tho, thanks for the info.

Hey Windowlicker, (funny name). Nice tank! How do you think these lights would work if in a fixture about 8" off the surface of the water.

I'm setting a new tank and just ordered two of these lights. Imam thinking of building a hood and would like to locate the lights about 8" above the surface of the water. Your is beautiful, but I dont want that much stray light. I want to keep it contained inside the tank. Also, The lights I ordered are dim-able.

I've been using two of the 120's, non dimmable over my 125 for at least 9 months.

My tank in an 2005, and only has one centerbrace.

    I hand them 8" off,

I currently have 36 different species of corals.

They all do great with these lights.

Check out the bottom (newest) DT vid in my sig.

Thanks for the complements. If you want to put your lights in a canopy and have them 8 inches off the water you can. Just make sure you have ventilation in the canopy and I wouldn't start them at 100%. I just built a canopy and hung 2 of the dimmable units on chains over a 55 gallon. Where they replaced a old compact florescent fixture and it gets warm inside the canopy.

Todd, I saw your youtube videos. Wow, that's very awesome. Corals look good. The shimmer looks fantastic too.

Thank you G.C. for the DT compliment! About 18 months now, and I'm really enjoying Reefing- on a shoestring budget too!

On a shoestring budget is great way to go. Btw, I've been lurking at ReefBreeder 120w. It seems pretty good with those controllable features it has. Hmmmmmmm...............
