    Problem is with my setup.
I have a 46 tall with two penguin350 on top and a tight glass lid. Not any room for expansion. I am quickly finding the an external canister, sump and ref may be required to continue.

I have not found a PO4 reactor that would work as a hang in.

    Any thoughts?

I'd toss the lids also that causes huge CO2 levels at night and that feed algae like crazy.. Worse thing you can do is keep lids on a tank

Ouch, this keeps getting worse. That was a 200.00 custom lid. Heres another problem, my snowflake and jawfish are jumpers. When I take the lid off for cleaning, the jawfisj is like a Dolphin at a show, performing all sorts of tricks, as high as 10" out of the water at times.. The eel, well he's just scary to think about jumpin out at me.

Good to know though, I wondered why I saw soo many without lids. I have my eye on the wall between the livingroom and dining room for a mounted 200 gal. I think I will keep researching and collect my parts for what is soon to be an inevitable project. Specially now that I just went though the thread here on the inwall project.

If you want to keep the top lids on tight you'll have to set up a sump to aerate the water and let the water exchange the gas to the atmosphere . People set up CO's generators on F/W tanks to keep a planted tank of real plants and grasses .. Many have made the same mistake as you with tight fitting glass lids . You are not getting much gas exchange at the surface thats where 90% of the total exchange takes place . Like living in a plastic bag with a few small pin holes in it ):

    Makes sense.

BTW, I have a 12" bubble wand cranked to high. Does that air count ?

Yes in that its pressurizing the area under the tops a little bit and that air pressure pushes some of the CO2's out but as I said the major portion of the gas exchange takes place at the waters surface. Thats why a shallow longer x wider tank is better then a taller narrow x shorter tank.

WOW good thread Tons of information.

If you were to remove the glass lid you could replace it with 'egg create' from a hardware store. not the nicest to look at but it keeps the fish/eels in while letting air exchange.
