Are you saying I'm not experienced ? ::) Or anyone that doesn't agree with you isn't experienced.

OK, let's tone it down a bit. The last thing we need is another thread war. There are two camps on this one based on experience. IMO, the RO water arguement does win out in terms of safety. But that is only part of what we are discussing, which is why I went the other way. Everyone has their input. The input was presented. Let's let it stand as such.

If you use tap water..you are entering a world of pain

lot of bad advice in this thread.

I bet jesus used atleast a 5 stage RO/DI unit when he created the oceans.

No, I just think the notion of using tap water and being ok is misleading. But in the end it's up to the OP to make his own decision based on a collective of the advise given to him.

As for the potential "argumentative posts", I'd delete/edit them.;)

OK I admit even *I* had to kind of have this beaten into me a little. I have used 100% RO water on my last 3 tanks, but this thread, RO Question, was what really drove it home. I am SO glad I followed the advice of everyone here.

I'm getting into my green algae stage and I've only used RO/DI water... I would hate to see it if I used tap.
Also most homes have copper pipes... I don't like the sound of that.
