I just wanted to share a few pics, as I think I might have figured out a way to take pics in darkness (with a flash). My digital camera won't focus unless it can "see" what it's pointing to. To overcome this, I shone a flashlight on the subject, pressed the shutter button down halfway to allow it to focus, then shut the flashlight and snapped the pic.

The resulting photos are of my trumpet. It has 3 heads, but one is ready to split, so I've been shutting my PHs after lights out, and target feeding them chunks of mysis in the still water.

Here's a few shots with their "mouths full." :) The first 3 shots are with a flashlight, and no camera flash. The last few are as described above.

Here's the trumpet 24 hours after eating. I'm liking these night pics. Feeder tentacles are beautiful. It's like a different animal by night. :)

How well does those powerheads work? The ones with the motor outside the tank.

Very well. Wide, diffuse laminar flow. Programmable to pulse, (with control over strength and interval), simulate lagoon, reef, or just plain, "on."

Can blow so hard, the sand on the bottom of the tank flows toward the wall the pump is on.
