it really depends upon the corals, most corals don't need target feeding or may eat but don't require it.
there are to many corals for us to tell you what need what. what corals do have this will cut a the response from a book to a paragraph

You can feed most LPS except for the zoo/polyps. Sunpolyps have to be target fed

Most definitely, feeding the LPS will help keep them happy/healthy and will aid with their color/growth, but it is not absolutely necessary for the most part, except the sun coral. Do you have any pictures of the sun? many types of corals are mislabeled as suns and every polyp will need to be target fed.

Sun Polyps are the only coral you have that is not symbiotic, requiring light for its survival. That coral can be target fed small amounts every day or every other day(each polpy is a separate individual and will need to be fed individually). Your plate coral will consume foods such as mysis and brine shrimp that it captures in its tentacles.
For the most part though, corals have more than enough nutrients in the water column to sustain those that will benefit from additional feedings aside from light(zooxanthellae).
