    people should just tattoo themselves, not damn fish ???

    The asians have been injecting dyes into fish for years. They also inject corals as well. This is common practice over there. How do you think they get some wild colored koi??? They make them that way!

    Wow, that is wierd!! Tats hurt on people, think of what it feels like for a fish.
    Geekdafied, I knew about painted glass fish, and the painted tetras, but I didnt know they colored kio?? Koi come with grey, white, black, red, yellow, orange, and a slight blue naturally( well as natural as a koi, :lol:). What colors have you seen them in??

    Those are parrot ciclids that have been dyed. Either by injecting them with dye (tattoo'ing or feeding them with food laced with dye in the larval stage)

    as far as no one buying them... The japanese love them. They are the ones who started it. For first time aquarists, they dont know any better.

    also... a lot of anemones are dyed, especially ones with "japanese" in the name of them.
