Tax Return Time WooHoo!

thats what happens when you have an extra $25k worth of income you did not have taxes already witheld from on top of your regular salary and it jumps you several tax brackets.
this year my rental property needed about $9k in repairs and maint costs that I get to take right off the top before calculating my tax rate. and since I was unemployed for several months last year and my taxes were taken at the full salary level but actual earnings were nearly $12k less.

I'm just waiting on 1 more document and i'll know exactly what im due back

 

One thing the President did was to drop Fed Income taxes from paychecks if you made under a certain amount. At first I thought it was awesome, more money in my pay check! Until I found out I'm going to get next to nothing back for tax return I'd rather have the extra Christmas feeling, than a few bucks extra in my pay checks, haha. So bleah. Not sure what the tally is on what I'm getting back, but I used to get between 100 and 300 back, not bad for a kid in high school (I was then). But no, the summer and fall I worked the most in my life, I'm going to get jack squat back. Sadness. Maybe I can go buy a cheeseburger with my tax return...

 

ohhhhh ok, lol i also got back around $1-3 hundred when i was in HS lol at least you can buy a cheeseburger, $2 cant get me anything

ok, just looked at this tonight.. anyone confrused by the Making Work Pay Tax Credit?? from what im reading the extra 11 bux you started getting in apr 09 on your paycheck has something to do with this?? any CPA's out there? Does anyone who meets the criteria and is under the income level get to take this credit? if so whats it mean for 2010 if anything at all?

 

im getting 4600 back, i am real excited. first year claiming my new son. i even talked my girlfriend into letting me upgrade to a 90 with some of the money. the argument was great -> it wasnt any bigger (currently a 55) just deeper so we could put it all the way against the wall and get rid of the HOB stuff.

oh yeah, not sure about the making work pay deal but i got 400 back from it. (used Turbo tax so im not sure how it worked)

I recieved 3600!!!!! Hopefully I wil be able to get my 90 gal build finished. T5 retro kit, aquacontroller lunar simulator, heater, new inline dual DI and float kit purchased so far.
