Hey Tbelt I notice you don't have a background on your tank. Are you thinking about it? I put it on to hide the wires from sight. Just a thought...

Yes will probably do the background soon. Still moving powerheads around. As soon as I finish I will put something back there to hide the wires.

Well the diatoms are right on time. Started to see them about 1 week after it was up and running. I will get some pics up later today. The clean up crew seems to be doing a good job keeping up with it. Sand sifter star leaves little imprints where he has been in the diatoms.

Today I am off to the lfs to buy some dry rock to put in. My theory is that dry rock will not cause a cycle and I do not have to worry about hitchhickers. Going to pick up about another 80 pounds or so. Might even pick up a couple of frags. Going to wait about 1-2 months(minimum maybe longer) before adding anymore fish. Also going to do a 20 gallon water change.

I am using a small box fan on the top of the tank(there are 2 holes in the top of the canopy) to keep the temp at 75-76. The lights heated the water up to a tad over 82. So far it seems to be working. Using the fan just about doubles the evaporation rate though. Trying to stay away from buying a chiller.

My six line wrasse went missing the other day. Ended up finding him in the sump return sock. Pulled him out and plopped him in the DT and he is OK.

Snails are much happier now that there is some film algea on the glass.

Also need to find some magnets I can use to keep some of the powerheads in place. The ones I used on the 55 will not hold on the glass of the 180. Found some that might work but not ready to spend $50 per magnet set up just yet.

I will get some pics up tonight after the rock is in. Thanks for looking.

As promised here are some pics. Could not find any dry rock I liked so ended up buying "wet" live rock. got a pretty good deal on it $3.50 a pound. Have it out in the garage in rubbermaid containers with a pump. going to watch it a while before putting in.
Also got 4 new frags and made a little frag shelf. Thanks for looking.
