Yup it does feel good to be back in and yes the fish are in freak mode. They do like all the new caves though. They can actually swim through the rocks and caves from one end of the tank to the other. Tank is very cloudy but coming back slowly

Also had to put some rock in totes while I fix up the tank. Doing large water changes in the totes as well so the rock will have less phosphorus in it.

And a pic as the tank is clearing up.

Hope to have the rochscaping completely done this weekend. Just want to make sure I have good flow through the rocks.

thank you OFK. I will have the tank looking better quickly. Then it is back to replacing what I lost and what I gave away. Going out this weekend to replace lights. May even look into the new LED style lights.

OK Rockscaping is finally done. Tank has cleared up and starting to look a little better. Another huge set of water changes set for this weekend and that should be the end of the phosphorus problem. also have the reacitor going as well. Here are some pics. the fish love all the new caves and constantly swim through them.

Phosphates are on the run and down to about 2.0. Still high but 20% of what they were 3 weeks ago. Maybe 1 more small water change. 2 garbage cans should do it.

Here are a couple more pics of the tank and all the caves in the rockscape. One more week and I can start adding some new life.

Really starting to look forward to restocking the tank.

    Soon;D

well another 75 gallon water change and those dang phosphates hanging at about the 2.0 mark. All the tank inhabitants seem to be fine. Really want them down to zero before i start adding stuff. I am pretty sure the phosphates dont bother the fish. My understanding is that it is the algea that comes with the phosphates that is the problem. And stony corals don't like them at all. Phosphates will kill them. Like it did my aliean eye favia. All 150 heads of it.

After redoing the rockscape and moving everything around I did get the brown algea and that lasted about a week and is now clearing up. Other then that no other algea concerns. One fish did go missing during all the work. The smallest of my green chromis. He has missed 3 feeding now so I am sure he has become a cusualty.

Does anyone know if phosphates hurt shrimp and hermit crabs? did not seem to but I will have to improve my clean up crew. About 100 hermits, 25 snails and some shrimps and a few emerald crabs is what I am thinking. Probably some pepermint and 1 cleaner shrimp. maybe 2. its a big tank.

I am down to 7 fish. So i will be getting more as soon as it is safe. Not exactly sure what ones yet. Still thinking and reading. I did get the one bully out of the tank and it is now in a very small tank. He goes to his new home this weekend.

Well that is about all for now.
