ok hi everyone! just wanted to ask everybody what the TDS readings in their region are. I live in miami, 33130. just bought a ro/di unit from spectrapure..set it up about an hour and a half ago....its producing roughly 4 gallons an hour. it comes with the dual tds meters and the reading of the water coming straight out of the tap is 15:confused::eek:. yes, thats what i said.....15! checked, re-checked and checked some more......tds of output water is 0. thanks for everyones input!

I'd run 15 in my tank....
My tap is 114...and thats pretty good...I use a RODI...but I don't change my DI resin until it reaches about 50 or so.
15 is incredible straight out of the faucet....

I tested some bottled water at 45...

my tap water is over 600, and my RO/DI takes it to 0, I would run 15 in the tank no problem!

My tap is about 250. If your tap water really is 15 you don't need an RO unit.

The nice thing is you wont go through carbon, resin or membranes fast at all.

The problem is just because its 15 today doesn't mean it always is.

He'd have to monitor it just like we monitor the TDS output of our RO/DI units.

I would just use the Spectrapure and the filters should last anywhere depending on your size tank from 1-2 years
